Our Community
We actively support organisations that promote greater inclusiveness, sustainability, and let dreams be realised.
Supporting incredible initiatives in amazing communities
There are so many wonderful organisations doing incredible things to provide greater opportunities for our communities – to make them stronger, healthier, and more inclusive. At Oreta, we partner with organisations that we can truly resonate with, positively impacting our industry, our environment, and boosting our employee morale.
Girls’ IgnITe Program – Explore, Grow, Achieve in IT
In 2019, only 28% of roles in the IT industry were filled by women. Oreta is addressing this gender disparity. In 2020, Oreta launched a work experience program for Year 9 – 11 female students, from diverse cultural backgrounds, who are interested in exploring various facets of the industry and gain insights into the how companies operate.
Stay tuned for the dates of our work experience in IT program for 2021.
Headspace – Education fund for women in IT
In 2020, Oretha launched an Education Fund for Women in IT, in partnership with headspace’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation. Aligned to headspace’s Career Mentoring Program, the initiative aims to encourage young women, who are experiencing disadvantage and barriers to employment, to expand their interest in IT, have better conversations, and gain industry knowledge to make more informed choices about their careers.
“This opportunity from Oreta will be beneficial in giving young women a head start in their IT careers. Participants engaged in the headspace Career Mentoring program will benefit from this support as they look towards developing their knowledge and interest in the IT space.”

Carbon Neutral Charitable Fund (CNCF) – Plant-a-Tree program
In 2020, in response to the devastating bushfires, Oreta helped fund a program that conducts revegetation projects in bushfire affected areas throughout Australia. The project aims to reduce our carbon footprint, revive biodiversity, and create new habitats for our endangered Australian flora and fauna. Supporting CNCF also endorses one of our three service pillars – cloud. Migrating to cloud can be an organisation’s way of going green and achieving sustainability. It is more energy and carbon-efficient than running data centres – e.g. cloud reduces the need for physical servers to run workloads, so organisations are using less electricity, which minimises their e-waste footprint.
STEPtember
Did you know – cerebral palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood?
In 2020, Oreta participated in STEPtember, a cause aimed at raising money for research, equipment, services, and technology (e.g. seating, mobility, and communication) so adults and children with cerebral palsy can live their best lives. Throughout September, all our staff and families challenged themselves to walk, swim, ride, wheel or spin their way to 10,000 steps per day. An easy feat for a cause so worthy.
Movember
Movember is challenging the status quo, shaking up men’s health research, and transforming how health services reach and support men. Movember is raising awareness of men’s mental health, physical health and suicide prevention.
For the last two years, in November, our Mo Bros have grown moustaches, and our Mo Sistas have run, skipped or swam 60kms, and together raised funds to help advocate for men to live happier, healthier and longer lives.
Bright Sparqe and The Big Umbrella
Oreta has worked with two incredible non-profit organisations, Bright Sparge and The Big Umbrella, which focus on helping the homeless and underprivileged through a series of outreach programs. Oreta has worked with both organisations several times to help make a difference by collecting and distributing necessities to the most vulnerable and volunteering at the shelters and serving meals.
Let us know about your initiative
If your organisation has a cause that you believe will resonate with Oreta, then we’d love to hear from you. We are always keen to hear about how we can help improve our local community.
